Glitchy; slow

I have the original SkyTrak, and was happy with it. Then Golftek took over, and now only the “Lite” version of the software is available without premium subscription or new hardware. The Lite version is much slower responding to shots (often 10 seconds), or freezes/doesn’t display shots despite the hardware unit indicating it is ready after the previous shot. Requires re-start of software. No way I’d upgrade after this experience.

Skytrak is a joke

My launch monitor loses connection every single time i use it. Sometimes i will get like 5 misreads in a row and then just msgicslly work again. Dont waste your money on this garbage

Works great

I've had a great experience with this app using skytrak+. I'm not sure why there are so many low reviews. The iPhone app gives the same reads as the laptop application, which is a huge convenience if taking this to the range. All the game improvement and virtual range and practice features are top notch. Tracks all the key data and saves all session data history. Highly recommend.

Awful connectivity

You’ll spend more time trying to get this app to connect than swinging a club. Even once connected, the launch tracker only picks up half your swings.

horrible customer service and app stops working every other day. I’ve been on endless calls with their “team” and and their pointless. Complete waste of money

My Skytrak stopped working.

I took very good care of my SkyTrak always keeping it in a protective case and always keeping it indoors. Now it may read 1 out of 10 swings even after several reboots. I only use it for the driving range but now it is useless after about a year of use. For the price I would have expected better. Really wanted this for my daughter to hone in on her game as collegiate athlete on a golf scholarship. #frustrated.

Let’s hope Golftec can drag SkyTrak out of 2006

Aside from the physical launch monitor, every piece of software created by skytrak including every user experience has been awful. Like whoever had the vision for the company was 80. Get off of unity and develop something meaningful from the ground up. Please.

Constant connection issues

Very frustrating to practice with. I spend more time correcting app failures and connection issues than swinging a club.

Keeps disconnecting

Continuously disconnects from the WiFi and loses signal.

Skytrak App needs work

This app needs work and a lot of bug fixes. It constantly just closes when you try to go from one screen to another. Also for bag mapping, it doesn’t load in your custom bag, so what’s the point? The app has some nice features and I like the data but it’s really annoying when it closes. Please fix!!!

Works great on Range and as Game Improvement Tool

Love the range, targets, bag mapping, wedge matrix and other game improvement features. Have not used SIM capability much.

Poor interface on iPhone

The iPhone app is poorly designed. I’d like to see a refresh now that owned by Golftec. Specific problems: 1. Login screen is too small, should be formatted for iPhone rather than desktop 2. Login should be able to save login and/or use a password keeper app like apple keychain or keeper 3. Menu options on top of screen when hitting are impossibly small and appear formatted for desktop and not a small phone 4. System should allow analysis of multiple hitting sessions, last 10/20/50/100 shots to understand improvement.

Updated and now connection issues every time I use it.

Always has some king of issue

It has become very difficult to trust if your numbers are correct because the app always has some kind of bug/issue. Every time you update the app something else gets messed up. This company is not putting enough effort to test the app before releasing it. Find another product.

Latest software has made it bad

It was great before the most recent firmware update. It is completely unusable at this point. It takes about a minute to see your results if you are lucky enough for the results to come on the screen. Please fix this!!

Software is so bad

I spend on average 10-15 minutes to troubleshoot connection issues. Some practice sessions I have to unexpectedly cut short because the software is so bad. Want to export your results? Welp you can only export locally and only via one type of method. CSV export doesn’t work. I’m about to sell this launch monitor at a loss and buy a different one. I almost bought the subscription in the beginning but my experience so far has been pretty negative.

SkyTrak +

Not happy, got plan to play WGT but i cannot finish a round because it loses connection every single time and shuts the app down. Have delete and reinstall app everytime. Ready to return this and go with something else

Update ruining original SkyTrak

Ever since they made the update for the SkyTrak+, the regular SkyTrak is almost unusable. Connection issues have skyrocketed, it glitches out and crashes the app, and now when I’m hitting the ball while practicing, it reads it severely incorrectly. Basically unusable at this point. Reminds me of when apple updates started to crash old phones so you basically had to buy a new one. This seems like the same thing, let’s ruin the existing product so they have to buy our new model.

Why all the hate? App works Great

The fact that IOS is supported so well is huge. PLEASE ADD FULL SCREEN SUPPORT FOR EXTERNAL MONITORS!

Accurate device, unpleasant software

The device when it connects for practice is great, but the additional features included in the paid subscriptions either don’t work or are very buggy. Challenge mode with multiple players frequently tells the wrong person to hit and then when repeating the previous challenge it reverts to a single player. My SkyTrak+ device won’t connect to the WGT Golf app and support has told me I need to wait for an app update, so I’m paying for a subscription I can’t use at the moment.

Don’t want to pile on! But come on and fix your product

All I can say is I have had the same issues, using an Ipadpro as mentioned here. I have had some success connecting in network mode in one location before moving to another. But I have an Orbi system with the fastest possible internet available in my area. I agree that connectivity is more an App issue and not the Wi-Fi. SkyTrack, you should fix this pain point, there are others looking to take your niche.

Unreliable

I’ve had this Skytrack unit for going on a year and a half now and I am frustrated with the fact that it intermittently does not work. I called Support to get someone to help me and they fixed it. They said it was something on my account and the next day I come out here and it’s doing the same thing. Very frustrating.

Not worth a ………………

Just a pile of junk. When the thing actually works it’s a very good tool. Good luck getting everything to work though (namely the app).

Complete waste

Do you love apps that crash constantly, always forgets your password, super laggy, and almost unusable at time? Well then this app is for you! I love paying a big chunk of money on a simulator that works like junk, wish I would have done it sooner. This company is a joke and I will never support them again. If you're already here, it's most likely too late as you've already bought it but if you can, please request a refund immediately and try another. The princess isn't in this castle

Unstable software that’s poorly maintained.

I am unable to run this on my iPad even though their website specifically states that the version of my iPad is compatible. I spent, rather, I wasted hours on the phone with technical support to no avail. I did manage to get it running on my iPhone, but the screen is too small to be useful. The SkyTrak hardware costs $2000. This software can barely run on selected iOS devices. What a waste of time.

Great simulator - terrible app

I’ve had the SkyTrak for a couple weeks and the simulator itself is great. The app now no longer works though which means the simulator doesn’t work. Total rip-off.

Can’t log in

The app was already incredibly inconsistent, and now the icing on the cake. They forced me to update (i.e. couldn’t use the app at all without updating it) and now, after updating, I can’t log in at all. I enter my username and password and… nothing. Immensely frustrating after spending thousands on the device. Skygolf, if you’re reading this, fire your mobile programmers. Start from scratch. Add a QA team and external beta testers. Make sure it works before launching an update. And definitely don’t force people to upgrade to a buggy release.

App Rendered Useless

Used to work great before the latest version of the app (which I was forced to upgrade to). Now I can’t even get the app to start - stuck in the “loading” phase. Absolutely horrible.

SkyTrak Launch Monitor

I wish I never bought this SkyTrak. I’ve had for three yrs and have to renew the basic subscription every year, which is free and all I need. Since I haven’t used since last yr, I have to renew my free basic practice. Why? It wouldn’t be a problem but there is absolutely no support to try and get this resolved. No one picks up the phone and no one will return a question on the Chat. When I tap on the Practice icon, it directs me to their website plans. USELESS. There are several plans to pick along with the basic which says it’s already installed. NO ITS NOT! Do not waste your $2,000 on this.

Since Golftec update App won’t load on IPad

App worked fine until the update 2 days ago, I had to jump through hoops to get it to work on my iPhone, but my iPad still will not load. Not the experience I was hoping for with the new company. Please fix ASAP, and please fire your QC department, clearly don’t have all test scenarios handled. iPad 4th gen with latest OS update.

GolfTec

So far the transition to GolfTec has been the worst customer service experience of my lifetime. Account password reset sends me into an endless loop, support line is never answered and eventually hangs up, and there is no guidance anywhere on any of their websites. Loved my product prior to this.

What a load of crap. This app is extremely fragile and will crash or not even load up properly. Constantly badgers you with notifications to renew your subscription even though they can’t get it to operate. Don’t buy this brand. There has to be something better

Too bad so sad

After ample research, I ordered this skyTrak launch monitor for indoor use based on the fact it had great reviews and it was supposed to be good for smaller spaces. I received the skyTrak product and downloaded the app to get things rolling and that is where things got bad. The app is horrible completely worthless and never even connected to the sky track product. That is when I went online to research and noticed hundreds of people that had considerable problems with the app and it sounds like you need additional technology and a masters degree in information technology to get the thing to connect to a Wi-Fi. I said screw this and I returned the sky track product.

Always connections issues

I wish I could say that I played my sim more often. But, 70% of the times I try the sim has trouble connecting to the internet. And yes I have a great Wi-Fi signal. I’m not sure if it’s from lack of updates or what but it’s a pain in the butt.

Ughhhh

Okay, so I got the app and logged in, but now the sensor won’t connect! I’ve literally touched them together and it still won’t connect!

Buggy and frustrating app

Keeps losing my account and wont let me log in even when using the iOS login app. Each time, I need to reset the password which doesn’t work, then contact support, have them reset it, delete the app and then reinstall, etc. Takes about 30 minutes each time. Ridiculous for $2000 piece of hardware and software combination. SkyTrak - get your act together and fix this!

App is a nightmare. Tech support non existent. wish I had understood this before purchasing launch monitor. The launch monitor is great it is just the app that ruins the experience. When it works it’s great but good luck at signing in

Can’t connect in network or direct mode with my iPad. When it does connect, the red light where you place the ball constantly goes out. Don’t waste your money on this hardware or app.

Terrible

The app is terrible Was designed for a pc or tablet and can’t be used on a mobile phone It goes into landscape mode for the display and that makes it useless since you can’t see the letters

Connection is unstable

It works well when it is connected. Repeatedly facing connection problem.

Don’t Upgrade - Software Completely Unstable - Won’t start

Don’t waste your time. If you have iOS 14.8 or older this upgraded version will NOT work. I’m ready to sell my unit - such a pain to get working.

New version/release is terrible

Prior release was great, used it 3-4 times a week. I’m a scratch golfer and today out of 6 1/2 LW shots (s/b 50yds) 2 were over 100 yds, 2 were dead shanks (trust me they weren’t) and 2 never recorded. Trying to figure out how to go to prev version
